Two technical officers from the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) visited WMO/RIC Tsukuba from 3 to 13 June 2019 for calibration of TMD standard barometer, thermometer, hygrometer and anemometer equipment.
The officers also visited JMA’s Tokyo headquarters on June 11, meeting with Observation Department Director-General DESHIMARU Takuya and taking a tour of the JMA operation center. TMD staff also paid visits to RIC Tsukuba for calibration in 2000, 2007 and 2010. The calibration is considered to have been successful and to have contributed to the mutual development of meteorological services provided by TMD and JMA.
